Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Super Smash Bros. Brawl Official Updates

Thank goodness it's not Mortal Kombat controls...I never really liked combo-fighters...where you need to memorize combos and execute them before your character does the move onscreen.

At least in Smash Bros, every move is instant...makes it more fluid. If I want to kick strongly to the left, I'll smash the joystick to the left and press A at the same time...and then I can immediately smash to the right and press B at the same time to do a special move instantly. I guess that's why it appeals to both casual and hardcore gamers...easy to pick up...but it gets fast and difficult later.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

I'll imagine I'll at least give the Wii Remote only scheme a try along with the other schemes.

As for the update, it's a pretty good one. It lets us know the control scheme is going to pretty similar for the GC and CC while still showing they're going to have to do something new for the other two schemes.

I don't think the Wiimote/nunchuck configuration will be any different than a GC or CC configuration.  The only thing will be the placement of buttons...you'll still be tapping a joystick and pressing a few buttons...the Wiimote only option is the only radically different control scheme (so far).

They changed it.....

Looks more 'right' now.

I can see lots of fighting about who gets what controller when people don´t have 4 Wiimote-Nunchucks or 4 GC controllers, if one player stuck with just the Wiimote that player will be pissed, looks like I´m getting 2 more nunchucks soon.... or maybe GC controllers if it turns out they work better.... but maybe a cordless rumble nunchuck is comming, I´d definitly want that.

Oh that's weird...it used to be double tap on the Wiimote, now it's one tap!

It's like Sakurai heard the cries of Nintendo fanboys everywhere and changed it right away!

4 on 4 online battles oooooo yeah.

I think there was probably a mistake in the chain of command here. Game designer guys tell picture editing guy to put "left + 2" and he reads it as "left x 2" or something to that effect. =/

Putting that aside, this is great news! I was worried how the wiimote controls would end up, but there look extremely nice. Initally though doing a smash might require wiggling the controller, but never thought it might require pressing both buttons simultaneously.

People have obviously forgotten about the NES days

I am a PC gamer, and also have a NDS now, but without access to a Nintendo Wii until End of 2007.

Currently playing: Super Smash Brothers Brawl(Wii), Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer(DS), Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime (DS), WiiFit(Wii)

Games Recently Beaten: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King (Normal; Very Hard after the next DLCs become available)

It's a decent update but you can't be mad it's been a great week of updates....

Assist Trophies/ Samurai Goro, Bowser, and Giga Bowser as the Final Smash, we have to get one "ok" update every week what do you guys think the last one will be?
