Thank goodness it's not Mortal Kombat controls...I never really liked combo-fighters...where you need to memorize combos and execute them before your character does the move onscreen.
At least in Smash Bros, every move is instant...makes it more fluid. If I want to kick strongly to the left, I'll smash the joystick to the left and press A at the same time...and then I can immediately smash to the right and press B at the same time to do a special move instantly. I guess that's why it appeals to both casual and hardcore gamers...easy to pick up...but it gets fast and difficult later.
