This update is such a tease... Unfortunately my brain feels like exploding from the mix of confusion and excitement...

Smash Brothers with a plot? I thought they might add more story elements to melee and was a little dissappointed that they didn't. Single player was always missing something but a cool "battle against an evil oppressor in the name of peace and freedom" sounds cool. I'm excited.

Smash Brothers is my favorite console series by the way.

seems people are seeing characters in the clouds.

There images in the smoke is interesting. If you look at what they identified, each of those is an antagonist for a character. So metaknight (kirby's enemy)'s ship spewed smoke in the shapes of Bowser (marios), Ridley (metroid) and MewTwo (pikachus). If that was intentional, could the plot be a battle between the goods and their nemesis?

we gamers got too much time on our hands, definently.. :P

I think this is the general story of sbb. You got "this world" which is invaded by the bad characters who probably come from "their world".

If it's anything other then that, I would be surprised...

Well this is what i have of the story so far:

 
This is the World of Smash brothers. In this world trophies are brought to life and are forced to fight one another.

All they know is fighting, it is why they were created (by Master Hand most likely) 

 
Being turned back into a trophy is basically death for the smashers. Here some might say that Mario is bringing Kirby back to life or into existance, but i think only Master Hand can do that, so i'm pretty sure Mario *kills* Kirby, and that this is one possible outcome from fighting.

However, there is another psooble outcome, to not fight and form an alliance. However this is breaking the Rules of the world. 

 
When those rules are broken, the World will pay a terrible price. I'm guessing that Metaknight is some kind of enforcer of "The Rules", as well as these things:

 
I'm pretty sure that thing at the end is a minion for the main antagonist (Master Hand?). If you look at the picture you'll see two more of the purple "dark matter" forming together to the left and right of the thing, probably making more "things".

But all this is, is pure speculation. 

Master Hand may not actually be the villain this time.

 I don't know, but whatever happens, i'm sure it's going to be awesome.
