I just did that poll at the bottom of the vg chartz home page and was shocked to see that 789 people think the ps3 version of gta4 is gonna be the best selling game of 08 when the xbox verson is selling miles ahead of it!? how can you people think that!? any way I just figured I would do a thread to see if any one else had anything good or bad to say about it, i think its crazy, but its personal opinion I know.  I just didnt expect people to hope so much against the odds. my feelings on this = shocked and dismayed. Can any one give logical reasons why it could???

The thing is, it was never in any doubt that the 360 version was going to outsell the ps3 version software wise. That was the view of pragmatic people at least.

Its because people think that the PS3 version will haver longer legs.

IF ps3 will get price cut in USA by autumn, it has good chance to reach 10 mln. users in USA by that time. And since attach rate of GTA4 on PS3 is higher, it has good chance to decrease the difference to 500k units.

In that case, thnx to Europe, where ps3 is doing good, even without price cut, after a price cut it will be ahead of x360 and with higher GTA4 attach rate will be ahead of x360 by 700-800k.

 I agree with Crazzyman PS3 price cut will significantly reduce 360 GTA IV lead over PS3 GTA IV down to 500k.

betwene this weeks sales and last weeks gta 4 on 360 has droped 67.6% and the ps3 version 75.9%, even if that maths is not right there is still a higher drop in %% of sales on the ps3 then 360 indicating that its sales are slowing faster. how likely is a ps3 price drop any way, there have been threads about the loss sony is making with every ps3 sold and it would affect the blue ray market if the ps3 became extra cheap, it would cause problems for companies who cant take in losses on competitively cheaper blue ray players

GTA has always been an Xbox franchise. That's only going to result in more sales as time goes by.

what do you mean raz, are u refering to it starting off on pc??? this is the first time an x box gta game is going to outsell a gta game on a ps branded console (its only the second on an x box)
