The whole idea of the Olympic Games is to celebrate healthy minds and healthy bodies (νους υγιείς εν σώματι υγιή) and that you celebrate peace and tolerance. Even ongoing wars are supposed to stop during the Olympic Games.

What the other guys said. If you want to teach the government a lesson, economic pressure is the way to go, boycotting the Games is pointless. Then the government would merely use that as a means of increasing anti-west sentiment among the populous and creating an us and them mentality. You just had to be here for the torch relay protests to see how the government would spin a games boycott. People here were genuinely angry about the protests because many had a really poor understanding of why people were protesting in the first place and thought everyone was just out to ruin the games for China.

China is a production country. They export goods, not import. AFAIK.

Fruit and Vegetables imported from China are fertilized by human shit. That is no joke it is true, in China they use human shit as fertilizer. No wonder Chinese imported fresh produce is dirt cheap well it is made of dirt and is very cheap. Do not buy Chinese fruit and vegetables they are full of diseases.
