On a TV around 6-8 feet. When I play in my room on my LCD monitor only 2-3 feet as my chair will hit the bed and can't move further back.

Edited the first part.  Realized I can't visualize feet properly at that distance and 10 feet was too much.

Ok... I sit about 5 feet from my screen normally. (2 feet for the chair, then ~3 feet to the screen)

Wow, I didnt know most of you guys sit further away from your TV, than my room is long!!! (seriously, my room is about 20 feet long, from wall to wall)

Wow, I bet that screen looks so small!!! No-wonder no-one gripes about resolution on here too much! Holy smokes!

My screen is about 120 inches, and it is like sitting on the front row at a movie theater... And dont say "your gonna go bllind" I am already legally blind without glasses.

Wow, I feel for you guys.

hmmm, I sit at least 15-30 apples away from the TV. maybe more.

lol^^ I'd probably say 15 feet or so. so I think that's 45 apples? I can't remember.

Edit: That's pretty sweet, 120"? Is that like a projection thing? or a fancy HD type one? and where'd you get it?^^

about 3 feet

I wear glasses when watching TV and using my labtop. So really I sit kinda far away. But when I get pissed off, like in Halo 3 on Xbox Live. I get real close to the TV with anger!!!!!!!!

It's a Epson 1080p 3LCD projector. It really didnt put me out that much, considering it to a 60' screen.

The projector, mount, wall (yes, I built a wall for it), Paint, And seats. (yes, I bought the best theater seating money can buy), and when you count my 900watt sony sound system...

I have about 8,000$ USD invested in my living room. That sounds like alot, but... screen/wall cost about 200$... Sound was about 400, projector, with 5year warrenty ON BULB. about 3,000...

Then the rest is the furniture. And Yes, it's AMAZING.

The resolution is on par with the new 'digital' movie theaters, and the contrast is... not quite as good. :P (but hey, it cost me under 3000 for the whole projector, the BULB for the projector I would like would cost about 5,000...

Overall, I now wait to watch movies on my screen, because BluRay's look better than movies do at the theater half the time... :D

I have a 40" hdtv in my bedroom and only sit about 3 feet away. In the living room I have a 52" hdtv and only sit about 5 to 8 feet away.

We usually sit 10-12' away.  It's annoying whenever we have to use anything wired -- the PS2, for example, has to be pulled as far from the receiver as possible for the PS2 controllers to reach us.  It's literally sitting on a table about 4' away from the TV (toward us) and everything is stretched.  We don't bother to use it much anymore, simply because it's so inconvenient.

I have two USB extension cables for Guitar Hero 2 on the Xbox 360.  We don't sit any closer because big TVs make you dizzy from too close.
