Forums - Sales - With all these Ninty competing/not competing with MS/Sony threads...

Why don't people take PC gaming into account as competing with consoles as well?  It's taking dev time / resources and gamers' time and money.  Hell, you can integrate it in the television like consoles, and play it where you play consoles.  It doesn't have to be on a desk and chair.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

Conservatives:  Pushing for a small enough government to be a guest in your living room, or even better - your uterus.

I definitely consider it as a competing platform, but without good sales data for the hardware(almost impossible) and the software its hard to make comparisons.

To Each Man, Responsibility

I think it competes too. I think handheld games compete with console games too. Some people stick to PC gaming at the expense of console gaming, and some people stick to handheld gaming at the expense of console gaming.

They're all competing each other, but the lack of data of the sales makes it "independent" of the consoles

It competes too, but in hardware what are you going to count as a sale, the Video Card??? The ram??? The processor??? And usually most the games sell poor due to the piracy (steam is changing that a little), but heck yeah is part of the competition...

There is a old thread with a lot of PC games announced, and most of them are not going to see the light in the consoles...
