Forums - Nintendo - My Life as a King or LostWinds?

Okay, so I'm charging 2,000 wii points soon to get DyC and either LostWinds or My Life as a King.

Lost Winds appeals to me more but Final Fantasy looks like it has more gameplay.

Help please?

I own all of lastgen systems as of October 2008. (Finally got a Dreamcast)

I own every currentgen system except PS3.

Get both >.>

I can vouche for FFCC:MLLK but not lost winds, when the cocaine addiction from MLLK runs out (no where close yet) then I'll buy Lost winds.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

I have heard lost winds can be beaten in 3 hours, however, posters on this forum say 3 hours is a speed run. If you goof off, get lost, collect everything, supposedly it is 5-6 hours. Now the $10 doesn't look so bad of a deal.

Final Fantasy is ~$30 for all the additional content besides costumes, and would have to be ~15-18 hours long to be the same amount of game play for the money.

I probably didn't help much, but you would probably enjoy lost winds more, so get it.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

I may pick up lost winds eventually but I am playing My Life as a King, and it's awesome, deeper then I imagined, I've only played for about a 1.5 hours, but I love it, and see myself becoming totally addicted. Lost Winds to me looks like less of an experience, which is fine considering the price, but so far My Life as King almost resembles a full fledged game, in fact owning all the systems, I can say in my experience it feels the most like a full price game out of all the downloadable games I've tried from PSN/Live/Wiiware, so that's pretty cool. You should read some reviews though, to know for sure.

yea MLLK only gets deeper guy, I'm up to day 130 something now, trust me it only get's better.

I mean I just wish the map keeps getting bigger.

IGN says Lost Winds, which got an 8.2, MLLK got a 7.5.
Still not sure... I can only get one, thanks for the response, I'd like a few more before I decide.

I haven't played My Life as a King but from what I know of it and my own playtime with Lost Winds it's basically. Are you in the mood for a short but very sweet mini-adventure game, or you do want a relativity long slower paced Final Fantasy themed city-management-esqe game. Wouldn't use review scores to decide, they're completely different games.

Wow, MLLK is a classic game, the once you get your guild hall and your pubs and maybe an inn the kingdom can manage itself, all you have to do is use your charisma to raise morale so you get more money the next day.

Invest in your local shops and build more to spark competition.

My kingdom actually looks like a kingdom now with a few spots missing here and there, but I'm very satisfied with the outcome.

My tip to you is when you get it, get the dlc of the selkies/yukes/littlties before you make your 7th house, have at least 4 clavats running around at first, it's harder that way at first but it pays off in the long run, you can mix your 16 guys between all 4 races.

Just talk to people to get the money boosts each day up until day 20 you should be ready to go to each tribe village.

They really are totally different genres of game, and have different levels entirely of dedication involved.

LostWinds is very much a hands-on game where you control both the on-screen character and the very wind itself. You spend the game using the wind to affect both how that character (Toku) interacts with his world, and to change how the world around him is affected. It's a puzzle/platformer game through and through, and a good one at that.

FFCC:MLaK, on the other hand, is a micromanagement game. There's very little direct gameplay, as you basically send others to do the traditionally fun bits like dungeon crawling for you, while you just reap the rewards and build a city. It's a bit like SimCity in taht regard, but on an even more local level. And instead of automatic taxes to get funds you're telling people to go to monster-infested caves to gather resources. Same basic idea, different-yet-similar means of execution.

Sky Render - Sanity is for the weak.
