'Twas certainly the most underrated console in recent memory and I'd say it was the second best console of last-gen. After the almighty PS2 of course.

I really liked my xbox, it had enough good games for me. I thought it was hilarious how huge the xbox is. Its bigger than a VCR. I don't really care if most people think PS2 is better, xbox was a great buy for me.

3rd party killed the xbox because all the great games went to the ps2, but the few games the xbox had were very good.

XBox sounds like the N64 of last generation. A distant second place behind a PS console. So we assume PS3 will be second this current generation behind the Wii.
N64 33 million V's PSone 110 million
XBox 24.75 million V's PS2 125 million (and growing)
May I ask why you bring up a 7 year old review which hasn't been edited since 2004?
Yeah, being the best console and having the best games is different.
Games wise xbox couldn't compete with the ps2 but there was no reason for anyone to not own one as it had exclusives you couldn't get on the other 2 consoles.
Halo, Halo 2, Ninja Gaiden, Doom 3, Far Cry, Dead or Alive, Half Life 2, Fable...etc. Not to mention that games that were multi console games always looked better on the Xbox compared to PS2 and had online play.
As a console and its hardware, it did have the most features...
-Built in Hard Drive for storage
-Online network
-Best Graphics that went up to 720p in some games
-Most powerful
-Reliable and easy to fix if something did go wrong
-Modders dream...there is not much you couldn't do with the xbox

You're going to have a very hard time convincing me that the XBox (or Gamecube) were better consoles than the PS2. Hardware alone means nothing without software. (If you really feel otherwise, you must have loved the 3D0 and Neo-Geo too.)

Neo Geo owns all... I couldn't afford it but it owns. You know that you have a kickass console when it comes out in 1991 in trying to make an ultimate 2D console and no other console can even port your games properly unitl 1999, 11 years later(dreamcast)... Plus the last game came out for Neo Geo in 2004(Samurai Showdown 5)...13 years later.
PS3 will be dust particles in 13 years...
