Forums - Gaming - Which of the three big console companies is the most likely to quit?

I'm not really sure.

I can't really see any of them, to be honest.

It's kind of funny, back in 2005 everyone thought Nintendo was going under, and that the Revolution would be their last home system. Doesn't seem so likely now. Although, I wouldn't have been too upset if they went third party. They'd probably had still released some awesome games for Xbox 360/PS3. (Although, I don't think Galaxy would have been as good on PS3/360...)

Top 3 favorite games: Super Mario Galaxy, The Sims 2 (PC), The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

Ahh, Microsoft is the most likely. They have no real interest in being there as far as I can see other than to disrupt Sony. Sony has been thoroughly disrupted now and MS may decide to pack it in. However I doubt they will leave while Sony is still in.

Sony may decide to leave if the PS4 fails, I doubt the PS3 failure is enough to force them to leave, they have too much invested in the business as far as I can see.

Nintendo probably has enough money now to tide them over for at least two generations of losses and Nintendo has yet to lose in a generation (they made 2B or something with GC) so I honestly cannot see them leaving for many a year.

I honestly don't want any of them to leave although i think Microsoft, although not likely, is the most likely. I'm actually glad that Sony isn't winning this generation because it will just spurn them on to bigger and better things. Competition is good for us folks.

I personally don't think any of them would leave(for next gen),,,,after that ,mmm,If MS doesn't turn profit with next xbox they might drop out as they are not really interested in gaming and do not have lot's of first party studios.

ms. they have the least to lose if they do.

MS maybe, but I don't see anything like that possibly happening unless the 720 and 1080(???) both fail badly. They've improved from the Xbox 1, so things are getting better for them.

Sony likely not for awhile. If the PS3 stays pretty much in the ~50 million range LTD and then the PS4 and PS5 do continually worse, then there is a possibility.

Nintendo, I don't ever see them leaving.

Any chance of a 4th company entering in? (Atari ;-p )

Me since the games were revealed, the fanboys since E3."

Man i sure do miss the PS1/64 days.

i think that ea may enter to the console or handheld market in the 8 or 9 generation but no one will quit.

Competition is good for gamers. I can't see any of them to quit.

yeah i doubt any of them would leave, i mean every one is doing really really really well its just nintendo is doing so much better, it makes sony and ms look bad, but in reality their doing great! and no company is on deaths row right now and they dont apear to be heading there. The industry isnt big enough for a 4th contender though so I think were going to be stuck with these 3 for quite a while!!!!

If at first you don't succeed, you fail
