No, it's actually 1280x720. LCDs and plasmas squeeze in a few extra pixels.

^Okay, that has been a native res on PC monitors for quite some time, allthough a normal aspect ratio would yield only 1024x768.

 Well, LCD televisions that are 720p tend to be 1366x768. While it may mirror PC resolutions a bit I still find it odd that almost every 720p television out there has to scale the image.
