Ok, I have owned my 360, and have not recieved the dreaded red ring of death.

It happens when you leave it on. Since MS is replacing that problem, we can rejoice.

HOWEVER...

I just came back from Gamestop and this guy talking nasaly walks in and wants a chess game for his DS, and laughs and makes a coment about the 360 demo and GTAIV. Yes it was red ringed, This guy, in his 30's was bad mouthing the system. I couldn't help to think of VGCHARTZ.

Question, does anyone beligerantly knock on a system in public?? This is the first time I have encountered this attitude.

It was sad having this gentleman use vulgarity toward MS and the 360.

I think this guy had a lot of pent up anger and was upset because his parents wouldnt let him crosss dress or wear his blue dress to prom...lol

Yeah, this shit goes on fairly often in real life, at least in a few of my circles of friends. Then again a lot of my other friends probably couldn't even tell you which company made each system, but those are mostly girls.

hmm, some but not much, i have 3 friends that have gotten RRoD once, mostly it's just them saying "should have got a ps3" or something. But my friends and I are mostly electronics majors, and if we discuss the systems it's mostly processor architecture and stuff.

I try not to talk to people in game stores. It always leads to disappointment.

Be thankful the clerk wasn't an idiot. I've had GS clerks who were as bad as some fanboys on this site trying to shill whatever they liked and badmouthing the rest.

Well, in all fairness; it is not unheard of to knock on a horrible quality product. If someone I knew bought a new car that broke down completely within weeks, I think I'd laugh my ass off to be honest.
Please understand, I'm not saying that the 360 is a horrible console (in fact; I've come to respect it in it's own sense), but it really is a product with very low quality. Between the disc scratching, HDD failures and RRoD, here in Norway retailers were reporting a 35% failure rate, which is unacceptable for any product imo.

In my town theres the 360 group, the PS3 group, and the Wii person... Guess who I am? lol

So usually I come off as the screaming Fanboy, even If I know what I'm saying, just because I'm the only one who owns that console...

i was in que in Game once and they guy at the front of the line asked for a nintendo 360 (i lol'd, to my suprise, other people in the que stared blankly at me!), i also once saw a man buy a PSP and then tell the kid behind him who said he preffered the DS to piss off.

I walked into a EBGames once and some kids were trying to play the 360 but it had RRoD. They asked the store clerk about it and he replied with a bunch of disparaging comments about MS. Didn't actually explain why it wasn't working though.
