Forums - Sony - a game that surprises you....

Is this thread just about burnout paradise? or any game that surprises me?

Cause let me tell you about Deadliest Catch: Alaskan Storm..

The game hasn't even been released yet and I'm blown away everytime I look up info on it..

From their amazing website http://www.alaskanstorm.com/ to the feedback in their forums.

That game is genetically different, its the alpha male of fishing games!!

Whoa, join the club! At first I also thought it was just a typical die hard racing game, until I thought.... let me download the demo to see what it is and indeed,.... it blew me away as well and couldn't wait to buy the game myself, now I have it and love it! Due to other games I haven't been playing it much lately but sure am planning to complete it... Take me down to the paradise city where the grass is green and the... eh... boys are pretty

loool,,,I have only unlocked 16 cars so I have a long way before I unlock all the 75 cars and  it's all gta's fault.

LOL godamnit Gebx XD you are SO genetically superior :D

Burnout wasn't a surprise for me :P I enjoyed the previous ones and I KNEW Criterion was going to deliver :)

A big surprise this generation was Need for Speed Pro-street :) I Really enjoyed most wanted, and I thought Carbon was fairly enjoyable, then BAM Pro street comes to the rescue and smashes most of my good feeling towards that series XD How could one AWFUL game trash a series so bad xD

Oh one other pleasant surprise for me this generation was Devil May Cry 4, I heard they were taking the MGS2 route and starting you off as a different character and I thought "BLASPHEMY!!!", but MUCH to my surprise, Nero was fracking badass, his combat style was completely different from Dante's, and they gave him the good ol' "fuck you button". :) It blew my mind that not only was he not a pansy, I almost enjoyed playing as him more LOL. But that's still an almost :P Dante is the man ;) and his style switching ability was top notch :3

Lol I blame Folklore and most of all Oblivion for that

Sorry that I post double but the PS3 browser only allows you a certain amount of characters to type. I've only unlocked about 7 cars... so I've got an eternity When were we suppose to get those extra downloads?

I'm not sure what you mean Onna, I typed 35 lines of text for a post in the Discussion on User-Created Groups thread from my PS3 with no limit in sight.

@Burnout discussion

Yeah, Burnout is a great game. It gets really tough later on when you get the Burnout license and start working on your Elite license because if you miss, you might have a lot of driving to do to get back to the start line of one of the few events you have left. I'll get back into the game once the massive, and supposedly free, updates coming out throughout this year.

The online challenges are great fun in my opinion.

Right now though, if I want arcade type racing, I play GTA4 and if I want simulation racing I stick in GT5:P.

@ title topic:

MLB 08: The show. I bought it because my clan plays it and I was able to get it at launch for 30$ (because I am a bargain hunter) but without any real expectations of loving it. Well, let me tell you that it is a fantastic two-player game (online and off). I haven't really played much single player ( a little road to the show only). I have a terrible record something like 15W to 30L online, but I still have a good bit of fun to it.

ICHIRO!!!!!  :)

=p To be honest the game that surprised me the most was Oblvion. Never played an Elder Scroll game and I thought it just would be a boring ok game;..Oh boy I was wrong..

@Dogsrulez, that's strange... When I did edit with my first message, I noticed several words at the bottom were already missing and by the time I've finished deleting the top of it... I can have my next coffee break

Konnichiwa, agree! Funny thing is... I didn't like the game at first at all, gave it another shot and now LOVE it! Also Folklore surprised me, mostly by the story. Mario Galaxy surprised me too, of how wonderful the sound is of that game, finally an orchestra included and the entire atmosphere of the game. And oh... there are so many more

I'm actually thinking of picking it up at some stage, but I want it to drop price first.

€70 is just to much to ask.

(That's $108 by the way).
