There's A "Strong Chance" Silicon Knights Will Return To Eternal Darkness

Ah, Eternal Darkness. Never really got into it myself, but I can still see why people dig it, and I appreciate that. There weren't many games like it last generation, and there definitely weren't many games like it on the GameCube. So what do Silicon Knights think about returning to the series, should they ever actually get the Too Human "trilogy" out the door? Surprisingly, SK boss Dennis Dyack sounds keen as beans:

There is a chance; we love all the games we work on. We don't want to be pigeon-holed [into a genre], we want to be known for strong content...There's a strong chance we'll return to it, but there's no announcements yet.
No, no announcements, but the intent's there, and that's good enough for today. Thanks.

Here's a video from my band's last show Check out more (bigger) videos here http://www.youtube.com/user/icemanout

That would rule. Wonder what console it'd be for... don't see it as a shoe in for the Wii. Could be any of them.

Should it ever happen man would I be happy.

Though... I wonder how you get a sequel outta that.

Make the Sanity drops harder to avoid and get rid of the self damaging function of them when your almost out of sanity replaced with making it harder to do things and i think you've got a real winner.

I think Nintendo owns the license...?

I could be very wrong on that though.

@Kasz216 its has to be for the wii eternal darkness is a Nintendo game they own the rights to the game

Nintendo Network ID: Sherlock99

I don't remember where, but I remember them saying something to the same extent in previous interviews. How they definitely want to return to the "Eternal Darkness" universe, but want to finish up their Too Human trilogy first.

And yeah, it would have to be Nintendo; I think they even own the rights to the Insanity System in the game or something ridiculous like that

Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.

MAY THE RATS EAT YOUR EYES! I AM NOW LOST TO YOUR CAUSE! The darkness comes....

@Kasz: As said, Eternal Darkness is Nintendos IP, so Nintendo could make ED sequel by themselves if they wanted to. Also the sanity meter is owned by Nintendo, so if SK would develope "Eternal Darkness" to other than Nintendo platform, it wouldn't have "ED" name and the sanity meter.

Loved ED, one of my last gen favourites. If the sequel would come out, it definately would be day 1 purchase for me.
And ED sequel by the way has its manuscript ready.
