Forums - Gaming - In what year will gaming sales peak?

All industries have a rise, a peak, and a leveling off or fall.  Some may experience additional peaks but the gaming industry is so new (relatively) that a first peak hasn't even occurred.  Granted there have been the crashes of the 70s and 80s but in regards to modern gaming, sales have been in exponential billions as the years go by.  Do any VGC analysts see this for a future decade to come?

Here's some yearly sales info from a similar game site to VGC: http://forum.pcvsconsole.com/viewthread.php?tid=15831

"All industries have a rise, a peak, and a leveling off or fall"

What about the Primary industries - food as an example hasn't peaked yet :P

Anyway, I'm assuming you mean entertainment industries??

Pubs and Nightclubs definitely don't seem to have peaked in terms of sales

Ok, I'm assuming you mean Entertainment industries selling goods rather than services

I really dont think Music, Movies or TV have seen a peak/leveling off or fall

So no, I don't think Video games will have any significant peaking

Not for a long time anyway. With rising markets like China or India, sales are just going to keep increasing

2010 because that is when we will see all the awesome Wii games finally being released and the userbase for each system will have almost reached its peak.

2012 because it's some random number I've pulled out of my arse, insert baseless reasoning here.

Most industries don't peak, they plateau when the number of new customers shrinks and the increasing revenues from existing customers slows.

Hopefully some time after I die.
