Yeah i'm happy with this gen. It started for me with the Wii, but that really wasn't my kind of thing so i ended up getting a 360 too and it has never had RROD.

Games on all systems are looking very good, MGS4 looks killer.

Yes and No. I love what Wii is doing by introducing video games to a broader audience but saddened that it's causing a divid between 'core' and 'casual' games.

I blame both Nintendo for underpowering the Wii and conversely MS & Sony for overpowering theirs and putting them out at too high a price. I wish all three had settled for something in the middle.

This is a weird generation. While I havn't cared about any generation since the very first one, I now find myself owning a lot of Wii games. It has worked! However my son is ever more disenchanted with the Wii, wants to play more 'core' games and can't because he can't afford a 360 or PS3. So I'm very happy and yet he's very dissatisfied.

I blame Wii Fit.

I haven't been this happy with a generation since the N64/PS1 days.

I have only bought a Wii so far and I am happy with it as it gets the whole family playing. It has really re-kindled gaming for me.

I want a PS3 for HD, but when I see the videos of games or demos for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 they just look marginaly better than PS2. Is there something that is really "Next Gen" coming on the HD consoles or are they just slightly better than a PS2?

Part of that problem is the very term casual gamer. I'm not at all casual about gaming. I read reviews, pick my games with care and play them hard. I'm a passionate gamer looking for a casual experience. In other words, I'm time constrained. I don't have time or interest in games that have a steep learning curve or demand many hours of intense concentrated gameplay to appreciate.I have never found a Wii game yet that I had to look up control. I can put the disk in and in minutes I'm having fun. I'm looking for recreation and relaxation not competition or intensity of experience. I know that there are those that want that complete immersion and more power to them. You have two excellent consoles to fill your needs.

Please just don't dismiss me as a casual ( read wussy, lame, retarded) gamer. I care as much about my gaming experience as you do. I'm just looking for a different experience, one that fits my interests, ability and busy schedule.

I am enjoying this generation.  Last gen, I got a gamecube and xbox and I was relatively dissapointed.  This gen I have a Wii.  Like you said it really gets a group of people gaming (including my wife).  Plus, I love Nintendo games and the virtual console.  I also have a PS3.  I like this better as my second console than the xbox I had last gen.    I enjoy the blu ray player and the other multimedia functions.  Additionally, I never had a PS1 or PS2, so I got the 80 gig and now am enjoying 3 generations of Sony.  I really enjoy some of their first part games that I've missed and also the sports games that don't get a fair shake on the Wii.  If you have an HDTV, a PS3 looks tons better than PS2 games.  Since I've purchased a decent chunk of PS2 games and they are supposed to be upconverted to 1080p.  But honestly some of them just look painful, while some PS3 games look beautiful.  Not saying you should definately get one, but at least try to demo it at gamespot or best buy before you say the graphics don't look better.

No.... not really.
The Wii has not impressed me.
The PS3 hasn't blown me away (still waiting for MGS4 and FF13)
The only title on the 360 that really impressed me was GeOW.
And Starcraft 2 isn't out yet on the PC.

I know It'll take time but being that I own a Wii,PS3,360 and a 2.5k computer rig, I don't feel that I've gotten my moneys worth yet.

P.S. I'm not dissing good games like Uncharted, ME, SMG, or GTA4 but they didn't impress me as much as some games during last gen.

What handhelds concern I couldn't be more happier, 2 instead of 1 very high quality handhelds and a bunch of interesting games, except I wished to see more new and exclusive titles on the PSP, but of course piracy is killing that
