Shocking. Monday rolled around and they said they accidentally mixed up the footage. Just like I said on Saturday when the video dropped.

So, they said exactly what you said they would, does that mean its true? No it doesnt, they didn't explain how this video got through without anyone else seeing it, they didnt explain why if both clips were the same one looked worse than the other, they didn't explain anything.

Gametrailers FAIL.

I think this confirms that the Gametrailers organization is pretty much incompetent. It's easy enough to screw something like this up but it should never leave the building without someone checking it... The downscaled footage, which looks terrible, is just another giveaway that someone who didn't know what the hell they were doing was behind a computer screen unmonitored.

Still, I dont' think it was done with malicious intent. Sites like Gametrailers have far too much to lose by doctoring footage intentionally. The potential revenue loss could be enough to sink the site.

It's reasonable enough if you're not smart.

But if you are, then it's complete, utter, BS.

It actually makes a lot of sense to me. Lord knows I have swapped around enough video clips on accident in my life to understand how it can happen. One simple typo in the clip name and everything goes to shit from there.

Still, absolutely nothing should be posted without a check. That's Web Stupidity 101 right there. I'll forgive the error but not the people posting it without a double-check on a Saturday. I mean, come on... The person is working on a Saturday. That alone lets you know that they're not the best and the brightest in the company. Probably an intern, which means the work should be triple-checked.

Rofl.

I know that it does make sense, but the cynic in me wants to believe something more is amiss... Rather the PS3 fan in me wants to believe that.

But I'll give Gametrailers a pass on this one, if it happens again though, I'm calling shenanigans.

Well, maybe Gametrailers as a whole doesn't doctrine their footage, but perhaps some of the editing crew does without telling, and perhaps thats how this video was able to get out the door unnoticed?

In any case, this response was exactly what everyone expected, and as everyone expected explains nothing.

Here are the facts ladies and gentlemen, they are easily deduced:

Gametrailers knows the internet would be on that ass if they posted provably biased comparitive video.

Therefore, two possibilities:

1. It was a mistake.

2. Gametrailers is biased against the PS3 and simply didn't realize that it would be possible to tell the footage they recorded would be identifiable as the PS3 version.

So, since number two seems, well, utterly insane when you actually read it a couple of times, I'm going with option one.

I'm quick to hate, but I don't think that this was a purposeful mistake.

Game ova.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Look at it again.  THEY DIDN'T LOOK DIFFERENT.  The Crash with the PS3 version looked EXACTLY the same as the mislabeled 360 crash.  The only difference was the 360 crash was bigger.

why did the PS3 one looked a bit faded like all their comparison videos eventhough it was still from a same source?that's the real question that needed to be answered.

Once again.  It didn't.  Only the on crash was from PS3.

The rest of it... that looked different from both crashes was 360 footage.

Why would you find bias on the internet insane , it's well within the realms of possibility that game trailers is ineed bias.

The whole fuss was not caused over the mix up of the Videos , the degrading of the PS3 version of the same Video is the reason why the whole situation became this extreme.

On top of that Gametrailers have caused of stir with their opting for using basic settings on the PS3 version and not changing the settings availible on the PS3 to demonstrate what it's fully capable of (they're excuse was something to the effect of showing what the average consumer will get from their PS3).

After this ( and even before this ) anyone who uses game trailer videos to demonstrate the superiority of any 360 game will instantly have their credibility rating reduced to a nice 0.

Perhaps one should consider that IF gametrailers were huge 360 fanboys wouldn't they be smart enough to realize that any numbnuts with 2 brain cells would notice the Playstation controls on the 360 screen?
