Yeah, ok I'll give credit to IGN for their wording in that article. MS's announcement "misleading and premature." While it's not confirmed that Sony's account of things 100% ends the sales discussion, MS's announcement -- using incomplete figures it KNEW didn't include certain important store/bundle sales data -- was most definitely misleading and premature, and called like it is by IGN. If 5000 units is the difference, I'd call that essentially a tie. That's such a small number compared to the worldwide sales, does it even matter?

I think you need to go look at AU hardware numbers.... 5k is a crap load there.

 If MS can be deceptive in their numbers so can Sony. I won't believe either until an independent tracker confirms it one way or the other.
