I don't calculate the payouts beforehand, so I see them as soon as you do. However, I expect the entire round to be in the black (in other words, more won than lost)

Ha, ha, so funny, so hilarious. I want to see how you'd feel if you lost $1400 in the first round of a year where you have very high expectations 
well, you can't be #1 unless you take risks every once in a while. I've been lucky and the worst I've done is lost ~$100. If you put enough in safe bets, the worst a risky bet does is make you break even.

I missed the last 2 rounds, I was kinda put off by the massive spike America got.
