I'd recommend downloading the hot shots golf/everybody's golf 5 demo (it's available from the european PSN) - that game is a lot of fun :)

Me either, honestly, there really aren't that many great games on the PS3 except for ports, of course.

 

Resistance.

 

Look to the next gen multiplats and buy Guitar Hero 3.

 

Or you can do what I did and buy a Wii or a 360 to compliment it until FF13 and MGS are released.

 

I could have gone without making this post except I have a list of 360 games a mile long that are absolutely fantastic and only appear on 360 and high end PC. The PS3 is cetainly the most overrated console out if you try and listen to these forums, imo. I might sound harsh, but it's a reality that you're buying a PS3 for GTAIV, dependability, and largely future potential.


That's your opinion, which is fine.

In my opinion the the PS3 currently, (without future releases) offers a great deal of quality titles, and is well able to compete with the 360's library.

I think the majority of the great games on the PS3 are first party titles, but having a few multiplat titles does well to compliment those.

Get Resistance because a) its a decent shooter and b) the sequel is coming soon
Other than that, Motorstorm, Fight Night Round 3, Call of Duty 4, Lego Star Wars Complete Saga

Avoid Lair at all costs, and Pro Evo 2008. I have Pro, and its rubbish

Have you tried the club? Its a very arcadey 3rd person shooter. You might like it if you are a high score junky. I know you said you had a pc, but the pc version is terrible.

to tell you the truth, its a horrible time to get a ps3 as i have found out. i've had my ps3 for about 3 weeks now and its been the 3 most horrible week i've ever experienced in my gaming life. why? so many games to back track, so many games coming out and not enough cash to go around hahahahaha!!!

so far, all i've gotten around to buying are tekken5 dr, untold legend dark kingdom (i know it got a low score but hey, i like it and it cost me less than $20), genji (gain, not a very high scoring game but i also like it and got it for around $25), and finally gta4 (hahahaha! i love this game)

i've still to buy uncharted, assassin creed, dmc4, gta5:p, rachet and whats his face, heavenly sword, and probably cod4 (just so i can say i've got at least one fps).

already out is iron man (yeah yeah, heard it sucks balls but i'm an iron man fan, so sue me)

then coming out is mgs4 and haze (not really into fps but looks nice).

with all these games to get, i've got to budget my cash and i must tell you, its really horrible to be pressed for cash now!! buhuhuhu!!
