So I recently acquired a PS3, whose primary use is a Blu-ray player for my new TV, and a Cell programming experimentation box.  But of course, I also want to play games for it, so my question to you guys is, what games do you recommend?  I already have the following:

Super Stardust HD (kickass game, too)
Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (I know I complained about it, but I plan to trade it in after I've finished all the events)
Ratchet and Clank
Burnout Paradise (girlfriend wanted this one)

For reference, the only PS2 games I owned were Gran Turismo 3&4, R-Type Final, Gradius V, and Guitar Hero 1&2.  I also have a pretty powerful PC, so no FPS games unless there's no PC version.

Wow, you were a horrible PS2 owner. You may as well have not bought one. Same for PS3 if that is your taste, take it back.

Uncharted, Warhawk, GTA4, Resistance, Heavenly Sword, DMC 4, Virtua Fighter 5, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Tekken 5: Dark Ressurection
To be released in the next few weeks- MGS4, Haze, Wipeout HD

As for downloadable games: Everyday Shooter, Pixeljunk Monsters, flOw, Echocrome

I would have to say warhawk its the game i play most.

Resistance: Fall of Man is a pretty decent FPS, and Rock Band seems up your alley.

If you've got a BC model you need to work on your PS2 collection first, lol.

I'd be checking out the PixelJunk series, Loco Roco and Echochrome.

My best advice advice for you would be to download as many demos as you possibly can. Check out "The Darkness"'s demo in particular, such a gem of a game that didn't get many sales (Hell, even I am still meaning to pick it up).

Buy UNCHARTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Obviously don't really need to tell you about gta iv

as samuelrs says, download as many demos as you can, look at MS in particular, if you love it, you can probably get it cheap, also consider DMC 4, as it is an excellent game if you like that sort of game, and is really fun to play

get uncharted, and wait for haze and mgs4 thats what im telling my friend to do.

No get all 70 cars and keep the save file on the PS3 for GT5.

Get a PS Eye, it has quite a few games and features that are fun to mess around with. Video chat is awesome. Price $39.99 without the EOJ game.
