Forums - Gaming - The greatest contraceptive device ever invented is WoW

Just saw an X-play that joked about this. One of those "has a kernel of truth" jokes. I think the best thing to happen to gaming since the NES is online multiplayer. It's really the only thing about modern gaming that I enjoy substantially more than I do older gaming.

I don't know, I think the BCG's I had to wear in basic training were a heck of a lot more powerful than WoW at keeping the ladies away, or at least that's what the drill sergeants told us (I never actually tested that theory). There's even a wikipedia article about them http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birth_Control_Glasses . Now some guy wearing BCG's and playing WoW, now you're talking some contraceptive power.

is better to keep the ladies away with WoW than to have your child die due to neglect.

It's deffinatly the next step in gaming. It's amazing how far we've come. I think companies need to find a way to expand it. All MMOs are essantually the same. i segest companies need to look beyond wwhats out there. Theres lots of potential out there.

Indeed, I know somebody who almost never leaves his room because of this game. He loves it. No me gusta WoW. First off I'm not paying a monthly fee the play a game, period. I already spend a fortune on broadband, and other bills. Aside from that it has loads of potential, I guess. Personally I really haven't gotten into the whole MMORPG genre. I'm just not fond of games where I'm just another squirrel trying to get a nut. I would prefer a well designed single player RPG. (that don't have either the word final, or fantasy in the title).

Wow albionus I didn't know that info - pretty cool, LOL. I mean, assuming you aren't trying to attract anyone. I guess now that I think about it, military guys in movies usually have those same glasses. But, for the topic, I think some online games are awesome. I think though, that many MMO games are addictive to many people. They can't really stop playing, and they have to get their "fix." I guess if they're going to be addicted to something, it might be healthier than cocaine... maaaybe. I know that most people that play AREN'T addicted. I played FFXI for a month (it sucked) and I played WoW for a couple months and just got bored after making 10 characters get to level 35 or so. The levels get too long after that, too boring for my tastes. So, in conclusion: Some games belong online, some don't. Counter-strike Single player would suck, and Zelda multiplayer would suck (Imagine a player that looks like Zelda running around calling you a homosexual).

I have no idea what WoW is, besides something, someone would say, when surprised. I don't know why both W's are capitalised. And I don't know how you can invent it.

I also don't know how a popcorn kernal means truth, and how truth can be used in jokes. I have no idea how video games themselves fell upon all of this. I don't even know what the word "contraceptive" means.

What is all of this???

WoW is the ultimate expansion of EQ. It's a great game and was berthed in the ashes of Sony and EQ. I played WoW for a long time and I know guys who played it and have girlfriends, I know guys who let their lives become consumed by that stupid game. Let's not kids ourselves and tell us that we're not in a geek habit.

WoW... That's pretty cool!

It's weird that they mention WoW cause I think more girls play that game than most videogames.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!
