Forums - Sony - PS3 VGC Games Leagues

Hi beloved Playstation 3 Gamer!

This account is for a bot, creating and handling VGC game leagues. You can look here to see how such a league looks like. I could extend the bot to also handle leagues for PS3 games in such a way, if you guys are interested, for example it could handle your WARHAWK league. Or any other games that ranks people somehow.

For that purpose, I need to know how online works on a PS3 and their games. Does every game has the same usernames (like live) or is it more like on the Wii? Are those names unique? Can there be "private" rooms/server, on every game? Or does that differ? In  leagues for what games are you interested?

Around the Network

Most games use the PSN ID, and the only exception I can think of is MGO, which uses a Konami ID

The names are unique

there can be private games, but not on every game, I know CoD 4 and Warhawk can, but I think GTA can, but I'm not sure about others

I would be interested in a GTA league, and then of course we will have to have Resistance leagues later this year

Lets have a Madden 09 league and a Metal gear online league.

GTA sounds intresting. Well we need to know if there are private rooms/servers. Also does it rank people after "rounds" (e.g. half hour or something?).

I haven't played that much online, but there was a brief summary after the games with K/D, but I only played team deathmatch. However, there is a party mode, where you can just do whatever you want, so we could probably do something with that

hmmm not much intrested it seems ;)

I put the participation of the Warhawk league to a vote. Personally, I will not be administrating this side of the league, if the players decide to adopt it.

That being said, what are the logistics involved? Does someone have to jot down scores and then enter them later?

Yep, thats the job of the admins, announce the date/times, look that on that time the game can run, enter the results. All done by pm's in this forum. Thinking about doing it with a form, but i need to take javascript lessons first I guess;)

"All done by pm's". You mean PM's to you? It seems like a burden to you. We typically play 6 games per week with up to 12 participants (not always the same). Sounds like a lot of work to ask a third party (you) to do.
