I was thinking about buying the PS3 eye camera. There are some games for it and it might be used for other things as well, chat etc. I don't even know everthing you can do with it.

But my question is, is it worth buying? 

Especially if you bought or owned one, I would appreciate your opinions. 

well, to me the games available so far aren't fun for very long. They are less than $20 combined, though. I would recommend getting Eye of Judgement if it's still $10 or so more than the Eye alone. That game isn't too bad. Mezmerize, Aquatopia, and that Japanese one are all tech demos. The japanese painting one (starts wiith a T) is pretty cool to play around with for awhile.

Oh, Eye Create, which is free, allows you to take pictures and record video that is saved directly on the PS3. You can also edit and use some crazy settings. That's probably the best feature, actually. The other games are decent and worth trying. My favorite so far is the puzzle tower one...I forget its name...not Operation Creature, which isn't too bad.

You can also do video chat, which I haven't used yet. I'm waitng on a friend to get 1. I think you can do 4 people at a time with that, though.

Be patient and set up your Eye in a location that works for the games and it's worth getting for the price it's at.

Thanks for a really good inside look on the EYE. The eye sounds like a nice add-on, but you can live without it.

I probably will buy one. It depends upon if the Eye of Judgement is available here in Finland and the price. Should be, but I'm not sure.

When Sony start to bring out good games for the eye camera that should be sometime soon then yh. If not then theres no point in it

Most people dont even know that the ps3 has an eye camera. i think sony should market it more

Eyetoy was really good for the PS2 when there were games out for it so I would assume the same will happen when PS releases games for PS3.

The eye toy is good to have, especially if you are like me and want a easy way to video chat with people. I use that quite a bit to talk to family and my nieces and it's pretty cool to use that.


I haven't done much with it besides that, but it's definitely a cool toy to have with your PS3 that works great.

its just a gadjet for your ps3 but its cool

I own the playstation eye and its kinda great. The video chat works really well and the mike on the camera can be used for any game that needs a mike. The games are fun diversions (especially if you have a gf that is not into gaming).

Sony could do some really innovative things with the camera, so I could see it as their answer to the wii mote.

I got the Eye of Judgement with the eye, and while it was fun for a short time, I do not really think that it was worth it

my friend had it and i played a few games with it, personally i didn't think it was that great it was ok but its not something that i would buy.
