Forums - Gaming - What is wrong with Oblivion? Care to explain?

It sucks that many people don't like Oblivion. I want people to like Oblivion, because it's the best game ever made. Ever.

I loved oblivion. One of my favorite wrpgs. I think the main problem with some people is that there is a huge world, but barely anything in it, unlike morrowind.

From what I can tell, the game was simplified to make it more acessible to casual RPG gamers which is why certain people hated it so much. I never played Oblivion or any Elder Scrolls game for that matter

Who did you hear this from? The game was hard as hell because when you lvled up so did the npcs.

When I mean simplified, I mean the character development(not interactions) was how you say, dumbed down from Morrowind

Can you explain this a little wider? You mean finishing the tasks in Oblivion didn't gave you a satisfaction like they did in Morrowing...or what do you mean with that?

yungmagic09 : Lol that is normal,  I think there is only one on every 1.000 Oblivion lovers who finished the whole game.

@ Riachu:  Well you could make it very hard and very easy there was a difficult setting.  Play it on the hardest setting and a imp could kill you with one blow...

i really dont appreciate enemies leveling with me. it doesnt really feel like im getting any more powerful. A bit more diversity in the dungeon locations would have been nice...most areas follow just a few patterns, so after a while they generally feel the same and made me less inclined to explore more them.

but it was still a really good game.

morrowind>oblivion.

No the world just felt empty to some people. Not me personally. I do prefer both morrowind, and daggerfall to oblivion but it's still a great game.

Euhm okay =p....I loved the open world in Oblivion, I even walked always to every city/dungeoun/Daedra quest because I loved the atmoshpere in that game so much.

Levelling System was utter crap.
Plot line was utter crap.
Combat system was utter crap.
Distribution of enemies (or lack of distribution) in open world was utter crap.
Enemies were utter crap.
Magic, spells were crap.
Dungeons were crap.
etc, etc...

Basically, it was an open world for you to explore but you find that the side quests were absolutely meaningless, which leaves you the main plot line, which still suck. So really, a world where there's nothing interest to do. But that's just me.
