My Sony-fanboy friend kept telling me GTA IV was the Wii's downfall as well. I really wanted to just point blank ask him "So you're telling me GTA IV will sell 13 million PS3s?" Because thats what it would take.

I think that if the PS3 increases in sales, any increment is likely to be at the X360's expense. I'm thinking along the lines of Sega Genesis vs Turbografx back in the day.

Well, it`s too early to make conclusions.
If ps3 will stay above 300k weekly, then GTA4 did good job. =))
And Wii outsold ps3/x360 only thnx to big shipments in USA and earlier shortages with new game release this week.
Soon, probably this summer, Wii sales will go down, unless Nintendo show something great on E3.
Anyway, tiem will show, it will be interesting to see what nintendo fans will say when such time will come(probably the end of summer). =))

Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.

Wii production is increasing to 2.4 million per month this summer.

Trends have shown that demand far exceeds supply so that sales will not dwindle just because it is summer.
