That's absolutely false.
119, 71, 33, 10.5. Those are the hardware numbers (on this site) for Gameboy, DS, PSP, and Gamegear. It's not even close to the same.
Perspective: The PSP passed the N64 in hardware sales (hence Nintendo's mistakes being far worse in generation). The GG sold less than half as much as the Xbox and Gamecube, 2 console that went up against the most successful console ever, a title the DS will have for portables.
