What is your list of the worst mistakes made in gaming? So many to choose from, but what is your list?

Mine is...

1. Virtual Boy
2. Nintendo saying "screw off" to third party developers with the N64.
3. Sega abandoning Saturn third party support in favor of forcing the Dreamcast.
4. Capcom disolving Clover Studios
5. Blu-Ray as the standard for the PS3
6. UMD

I know, not much of a list, but maybe you can do me one better.

Lol #5 on your list is why PS3 has been outselling 360 since hddvd died. I'm just sayin'.

Anywhoo the biggest blunder in gaming was when Nintendo lost FF7. The second biggest was When Sony lost GTA4 as an exclusive. Nuff said.

Nintendo renigs on deal with Sony for SNES CD

RRoD
Virtua Boy
PS3 over engineered

The first one strikes me as clearly the worst, but the others are in no particular order.

Blu-ray was not a mistake. It won the format war. It was a brilliant descision.

Okay then, the PS3 was too powerful. Sony should have made the PS3 closer to Wii specs to keep costs down.

I don't really care what part of the PS3's tech you nerf, but clearly something has to be sacrificed if we're going to talk about lower inital (and recurring) production costs.
