Forums - General - Why don't we consider fat people attractive?

I don't think I know of anyone who has been thrown out of a club for grabbing some girls ass. Maybe it's just Northern Ireland or maybe you go to the wrong places :P A bit of fun only becomes sexual harassment when they don't find the person doing it attractive :)

I could really use a bit of sexual harassment from an attractive female right now but alas I decided to stay in until my exams are over. Big mistake.

It's just Northern Ireland. Ireland actually is a pretty high rape risk for a woman due to some stupid ass ideas a lot of people there have.

"More than 30% think a victim is some way responsible if she flirts with a man or fails to say no clearly.

10% of people think the victim is entirely at fault if she has had a number of sexual partners.

37% think a woman who flirts extensively is at least complicit, if not completely in the wrong, if she is the victim of a sex crime.

One in three think a woman is either partly or fully to blame if she wears revealing clothes.

38% believe a woman must share some of the blame if she walks through a deserted area."

Well moongoddess in that case you must hate women as well, as they also do sexual assault. There have been quite a lot of cases of women sexually assualting men.

I've been felt up on a train by a women, i've had a woman come up to me in a club and just grab my ass. I mean seriously imagine if in a club a guy just walked up to a girl and grabbed her ass, he would probably get a slap from her and beaten up by the bouncers. There have also been much more severe cases of women raping men.

The only reason it's more common for men to do it is because it is easier for them to do it.

thats just stupid. I don't count ass grabbing and feeling up as sexual assault. Since I've had some personal experience I'm having trouble not getting really angry at some internet person right now. I've had some dude grab a hold of me pull his cock out and try raping me and I ended up getting nasty bruises from the whole deal... I just got away because I was kicking and screaming enough. THATS sexual assault.

Well it's good to know that if a guy starts trying to finger you on a train you won't think it's sexual assualt. You will just think it's a bit of fun.

Also like I said women have raped men as well.

An estimated 91% of victims of rape are female, 9% are male and 99% of offenders are male. (Bureau of Justice Statistics 1999)

http://www2.ucsc.edu/rape-prevention/statistics.html

And ass grabbing is the same as fingering? Christ you are just trying to pick a fight aren't you? Go troll somewhere else.

Those are some pretty bogus statisitcs, and old.

One problem is that many states define rape as the penetration of a penis into a perseon. In many states if you don't have a penis, you can't comit rape. You can do whatever think you want to a guy, and you can't get charged with rape instead you get charged with some lesser crime.  So the BoJS wouldn't list even reported cases of Male rape by women as rape.

Anyone who's had any actual learning on the subject will tell you that while most rapes are caused by men, plenty of women rape men, well more then 1% of rapes. Rape of Males is vastly undereported (even more so then female rape which less then half get reported) even more so when the rapist is a woman.

As for the 91% victim number. That's still a little high and even lower if you include prison rapes... which actually puts women in the minority of rape victims if I rememebr the estimations of prison rape correctly.

The 99% is likely right on... if you count prison rapes. If you don't it's also still off... likely due to a lot of states legal definitions.

It's not a "Male" thing, it's a culture thing.

I have absolutely no doubt that 95 to 99% of all physical violence on this planet is caused by men. What do you think is happening right now in Darfur or any other war places?

I recommend this book to anyone who claimed that "hey, women rape men as well": http://www.jackholland.net/prejudice.php

And on topic:
I wished people would stop posting pictures of extremely obese people to prove their point ("would you go out with a girl THAT fat? Do you want HER on your lap?"). Childish argumentation.

Unfortunately in modern western society even ladies with only a few pounds more than the "ideal" weight are being looked at by many as "what a fatty". BTW: I bet there are more big guys in western countries than ladies.

Women do rape men as well. Actually a decent amount if you count non-violent forms of rape as well as just physical rape. (Though Physical rape, and rape through things like drugs do also happen.)

So, i don't get your point. It's not a "Hey that makes it ok" arguement or anything. The point is... it happens. It's as devestating for a man as it is a woman and Men often have no one they can go to.

That's my point. That's it. It happens... and it's stupid to only blame men for rape, as anyone can rape. Men are just more likely to rape do to how society is made up. Were the history of the world completely reversed and women were in power the whole time there would likely be little difference.

After all, violent crime committed by women has been on the rise as people are more limited.  It's all a matter of better education and fixing society, not somethign as simple as "It's in guys DNA!"

It's that kind of logic that leads to crimes and violence like this to keep happening... because it makes people feel like they aren't really in control, and they were built to do these things.

I'm sick of all you people you are not aware of the real world.

@Zim and Foshoryuken

I'm going to come right out and say it. I think you are an idiot. And the fact that you take your idealogy on treating women from rap "artists" affirms my feelings. There is no way you and Moongoddess are talking about remotely similar things. You are talking about unwanted sexual attention or harassment while she is talking about unwanted penetration and abuse. I realize you may be trying to propogate the idea that it's a double standard for you to go to jail for raping a girl while a girl would have no criminal consequences for playing grab bag, but no rational person would see those two as being equal. Saying to some women; "Oh you were raped? Man, that's like the the time some girl touched my crouch" makes you sound like a moron. It makes no sense. The only way you could possibly understand what a girl who was raped experiences would be if you forcefully had your sphincter ripped in two. It's people like you who makes the real world such a scary place for women, you dont understand the life long effect rape and abuse has on a person, and in you ignorance you log on to a forum and actually try to justify it and water it down to unwanted touching.

Except.  Men are raped.  By women.  All the time.  Not as frequently.  But it does happen and it's just as bad for a woman.  I think his point was just to illustrate the difference which is clearly out their, and is one bias that actually works against men, and it's a fairly damaging one.

Telling people you were raped then having everyone you know laugh at you, tell you to stop being stupid and just enjoy the fact that you had sex with a woman isn't exactly the most healthy expierence for a rape victim.  In many places having it not be considered as serious a crime as rape the other way doesn't help either, nor does the fact that the chances of a conviction are going to be much much much smaller... which considering the conviction rate on rape isn't promising.

Well yes I assume we hold mostly the same view as the Rep. Though I imagine at least a few of those were probably not answering seriously (Maybe  a % or 2 here and there). I mean, this is the Irish.

Something on the UK --> http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/4453820.stm

Fairly similar.

Ah the world sucks.

Yeah, that much I wouldn't argue with people.  I'd hope one day people would stop blaming the problems of the world on the unchangebale and change society so that children are raised differently and future generations don't have this kind of problems...

but i'm already burned out at hoping people will stop thinking things can't change and do something about it at 26.

Makes me glad I have no desire to have children anyway.

Perhaps it's something of a cultural difference between America and Northern Ireland :) You might get shouted at by the girl over here, but you won't get thrown out unless you do something a bit more. Probably also a bit to do with most places I go being dominated by University Students

 If she don't want it;..Her friends will thrown him out;...Well thats what we do over here....Those kind of people may be happy that they are still happy...No one touches konnichiwa's gals/homies;

Why oh why did this topic become rape. Let's talk about something we can all agree on. No to fat women. I noticed myself getting fat recently and I was disgusted. So I decided to do something about it. So I suppose at least i'm fair with not wanting to go out with someone overweight since I hate it on myself as well. I don't like thin women, I like normal size women. Gotta have standards. You should keep your own body in reasonable shape and not totally destroy it. It's the only one you got. Alochol is fine, it's like get rejected by that girl you've loved since you saw her. It only hurts on the inside

Yes

I make myself vomit when I eat too much :)

The other argument I was involved in, this has become so offensive I really don't want it to continue. So I don't even know what the hell you guys were trying to prove, but whatever, you were right. I don't care.

It makes me really sad and proves my original point. Really well.

I agree. It's offensive that women rape men. Of course it's also offensive that men rape women, men rape men, and women rape women. All 4 things still happen and exist in the world.

Hope your kidding about the vommiting thing too.  If you aren't i'd suggest getting some help.
