Maybe it's just Northern Ireland or maybe you go to the wrong places :P A bit of fun only becomes sexual harassment when they don't find the person doing it attractive :) I could really use a bit of sexual harassment from an attractive female right now but alas I decided to stay in until my exams are over. Big mistake. |
It's just Northern Ireland. Ireland actually is a pretty high rape risk for a woman due to some stupid ass ideas a lot of people there have. http://feministing.com/archives/008893.html To quote "More than 30% think a victim is some way responsible if she flirts with a man or fails to say no clearly. 10% of people think the victim is entirely at fault if she has had a number of sexual partners. 37% think a woman who flirts extensively is at least complicit, if not completely in the wrong, if she is the victim of a sex crime. One in three think a woman is either partly or fully to blame if she wears revealing clothes. 38% believe a woman must share some of the blame if she walks through a deserted area." | Well yes I assume we hold mostly the same view as the Rep. Though I imagine at least a few of those were probably not answering seriously (Maybe a % or 2 here and there). I mean, this is the Irish. Something on the UK --> http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/4453820.stm Fairly similar. Ah the world sucks.

Yeah, that much I wouldn't argue with people. I'd hope one day people would stop blaming the problems of the world on the unchangebale and change society so that children are raised differently and future generations don't have this kind of problems...
but i'm already burned out at hoping people will stop thinking things can't change and do something about it at 26.
Makes me glad I have no desire to have children anyway.
