It matters when it's coming out to say a year. I already think FFXIII and Killzone 2 are better in visuals, but to have such a large are looking that nice I would say gears 2 probably is more amazing. It probably uses more power too. 

I think this game really puts the pressure on Killzone 2 and Resistance 2. There is no discernible difference graphically between the three titles, and the Gears series has the best gameplay history.

This was always the danger for Sony. If there is a major graphical advantage to the PS3, its taking them too long to find it.

i dunno... maybe its just me but i wasn't "digging" the trailer at all. the game looks great tho.

starcraft that was something else i had tears in my eyes.I have seen the visuals for kz2 and r2 and they didn't even compare.I find it funny when people sat there and said the 360 graphically its its peak and i knew from experience working with game software and hardware that wasn't so.This is a amazing thing and i cant wait to play this game.Its gonna be the hardest wait ever.

@Starcraft: We haven't really seen much of Resistance 2 to compare it to the others, but I have a feeling both Killzone 2 and Gears 2 will trump it graphically.

So hyped for this game - this is my most anticipated title of the year, GOW was the only reason at the time I bought a 360. Now the first was so big, the 2nd is so hyped and at first glance it looks like they'll deliver you just know this is gonna be one fantastic series.

And you have experience with "game" software and hardware? care to enlighten us on what kind of experience or field you work with? And to answer your last question on how "Cliff" does that... it's simple. He designs his games by taking elements from other titles (which he does a very good job at) and the rest goes to the programmers that bring everything to life.

Just watched it and it looks like a golrified cod4.No comparison gow2 looks way better.If you think othewise your nuts.If you look at the sideof the bridge the dude runs up on the textures are cheddar on that bridge and the lighting isnt as sharp on the walls etc as in gow2.It might be the colors there using in gear that give it that better effect etc.Also the gun in kz2 looks like shit the cod4 guns look more realistic.Kz2 does look good for a ps3 game tho as in better than anything currently on it.But it didnt impress me like that gow2 video just did.

You're crazy if you think Killzone 2 looked like a "glorified CoD4".
Not knocking Gears 2, but that footage of Killzone was by far the best thing I've seen on consoles. Can't say I'll like the game, I'd have to see how it plays, but the graphics are obviously top-notch.


As for the Gears 2 trailer, looks to be much of the same, a noticeable improvement graphically, although nothing surprising.
Bigger battles should be nice, the first game grew dull because of the 4x10 or 2x10 scenarios you fought for much of the game.

And I really hope they delve into the story more. All we got with the first outing was their names, location, and enemy. Enough to chainsaw locusts I suppose, but I'd like more than that.
Eh, either way, should be a big hit, certainly is hitting the same demographic in a much moire "badass" way.
