I don't think the console versions of Far Cry 2 would look as good as the pc version, and I still believe crysis looks better. You also have to know , every day pcs get better and better and more capable of better graphics, while consoles are at a halt. Last gen I bet the games looked similar at the beginning too, but then pcs got stronger, and the graphics got better. So with each multiplatform release the distance should be more and more in terms of graphics between the pc version, and the console versions. |
I love Crysis! I love the gameplay with the suit which is really really cool. I love how you can mow down trees and blow almost everything up! Its a great game. The graphics just make that game. It really draws me in. Its one of the few games that have really made time disapear for me because of it. So im excited about what you can do to cause havok in this game. Of course it will be on my PC because the consoles are just so limited in this type of game. 512mb ram? Pfft wait till you see what 4gb and an 8800gt can do. Its fun in the same way GTAIV is fun. Its great sometimes to just mow everything down like the old doom 1/2 days and just generally kick that ass. | Ok, Um did you quote the wrong person? I thought crysis was ok, but nothing new (except for graphics). |
Nothing new? What this and come back if you think Crysis is just another generic shooter.
| There are many fps' that are open world on the pc if that is the difference you are trying to show. I've only seen a couple of them on consoles and they were on a smaller scale. Now call of duty 4's story mode might be the same as it's predecesors, but imo it is one of the best online experiences I ever had. The only thing new to crysis imo is the invisibility and when you mix that with the open world feel it is a good game, but not an AAA game. I would give it an 80% if reviewing it. Most of the people who do say crisis sucks, are either jealous, or got to much hyped, and their expectations were too high. |
Uh, no that's not what I'm trying to show. Crysis is a game where it leaves you the option of how you want to play the mission. Not only that, the amount of physics in that game is unbelievable which is not true for other FPS's. Take a look into the details of the game and Crysis absolutely crushes what other FPS's has to offer. So much went into that game. To say that the only thing new in Crysis is invisibility shows you just merely ignored everything Crytek put in. And secondly, CoD4's story mode is not the same as its predecessor. The mechanics are the same but the content is not. |
Well I must be used to games like that then. For example there are multiple ways you could beat metroid prime( one of my favorite games of all time) it may not be as many as crysis, but you still have many ways. Imo crysis takes many ideas, puts them together, and makes them better. Such as the open world, nonlinear way. You do got me with the physics part though. Maybe I didn't play it enough to appreciate it as an AAA title. I will beat it again, and see though.
Oh and of course they won't put the same content in CoD 4 unless they wanted it to sell badly. If CoD 4 was a single player only game, I could guarantee it wouldn't get the scores it does.
