From Russia With Love is the SECOND BEST Bond film!

The first is OBVIOUSLY You Only Live Twice!!!

Nah, now I think about it, it might be Moonraker!!!

What's wrong with Spirited Away!? Be happy I only picked 1 Miyazaki movie!

Nothing is wrong with "Spritited Away". It's now the only movie that is a successor to the book "Alice in Wonderland". I guess something that entertaining, new, boundary stretching, innovative, wonderful, colorful and thoughtful only comes around every century. I'm glad we have it. Frankly "Spirited Away" shits on everything Disney and all the other Western studios have made in the last 25 or so years.

What other Miyazaki movie did you refrain from mentioning?

Here's my top 3 Bond films, and it's hard to go beyond them:

1) You Only Live Twice

2) From Russia With Love

3) The Spy Who Loved Me

I can't really pick a #4, but it's most likely a tie between Moonraker and Dr. No

Then I guess.... Goldfinger.  Ugh.

(Goldfinger's a great film, but I think highly overrated due to the campiness from the lazer scene, Goldfinger, Oddjob, Pussy Galore, and the whole Fort Knox thing.  Basically it had the campiest plot and the campiest names, although it does score major points for introducing the car and for the "heroin in the bananas" intro scene, which gets me every time.)

Whoa dude, rocketpig, we thought you were cool. Miyazaki rules. In fact, just 2 weeks ago I wrote a 7 page paper about Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (we watched it in my Japanese cinema class and IT'S AMAZING).

Miyasaki work is amazing.. I am collecting all his movies... Every movie is like a constant WOW

Such a hard choice, I usually have to go by genre but I'll give it a shot (in no particular order).

  1. Die Hard
  2. The Last Unicorn
  3.  Ghostbusters
  4. Ferris Bueller's Day Off
  5. Silence of the Lambs
And Miyazaki is insanely overrated.  He does some cool animation and color stuff but the movies themselves are beyond generic and boring.

Oh my god that's a fizzy bottle of awesomeness right there!

Fantastic combination!

I don't know what it is, I cannot get into a Miyazaki film. And I'm a pretty patient guy. Some of my favorite movies of all time are Lawrence of Arabia, 2001, and Magnolia. If someone can make it through any of those movies, they're not easily bored.
