Seen it before, does it not remind anyone of aspects of Crysis?
I just downloaded it and man is it addicting! I love the nectar, because I can actually see my enemies on my crap TV for once. The gameplay itself is a ton better because of it, I think. I haven't tried the co-op yet, but I can imagine that it will be awesome as well.
I am pretty much jaded w/ all these FPS. it seemed like everything else...
I played it this morning.
I have to say it's very distinctly average. The graphics are sub-standard, with bad textures, and poor lighting. The gameplay is solid, nectar being is a nice edition to gameplay. The weapons are standard fare, a pistol and assault rifle being the main weapons of the demo.
(oddly enough the pistol seems to be able to zoom in to the same distance as the assault rifle...)
The online co-op looks good, and the menu layout for the online modes looks easy to navigate.
I have to wonder how Free Radical managed to drop the ball on this one though.
I think it's a combination of things. Firstly, Free Radical, despite being great devs with a solid track record, were not ready or equipped to create their own game engine for the PS3.
Secondly, they some how got the notion into their heads that Nectar and the bland Mantel/Rebel story line alone was enough to really distinguish this shooter from others.
Lastly, Ubisoft being the publisher was probably not a good thing. There's a developer diary on GT that shows the Ubisoft representatives visiting the Free Radical studio to play the game in it's early stages. Both the representatives look bored, and after playing the demo all they have to contribute is "emmm....maybe you should add more smoke" then they leave.

I liked it alright. I look forward to the story. You're supposed to want to kill your teammates...
last night i was playing it whit a few freinds and i figured out you can send ingame messges :S too people on your XMB prety cool

It was alright.
The graphics were pretty good, imo. They certainly weren't impressive, but the entire experience looked solid. Everything fit, if you know what I mean. Nothing looked bad.
The gameplay was pretty standard gunplay, though the nectar mixed things up a bit. The second my dose would run out, I'd always be clamoring for my next boost, lol.
I've only played the demo once, and only offline, but I definitely won't be getting the game. I'm sure the shooter fans among us will eat this stuff up, however.
I was worried about this one, and with the comments in this forum I am more worried. Hopefully the full game will be decent.

This. I guess you dont realise Magnific0 always sides with Sony, but you cant accept that the demo still wasnt up to standards? Haha. So PS3 fans MUST like all PS3 games? Haha. His sig was meant to throw it back at Greenberg's face. |
You don't own a ps3 you are a 360 fanboy and youre commenting on a game that you most likely will never play. troll much?

Not really commenting on the game, I was just defending magnific0 who said the demo was bland, and loudhotwhitebox immediately assumed he was 360 biased, when in fact he is PS3 biased usually but offering his honest opinions of the demo. I guess even that is not appreciated anymore so forget about it.
And who says I wont play it when I can on my friends console. For what its worth he said it was bland too, but yea I am a 360 fanboy who has no taste in games, so forget my comments. sheesh.
