Actually, most people there had a different job before starting this, the guy we toured/talked with was in radio for like 10 years, the lady was in film for like 15. He said you only need a year or two of university then you will get hired fairly easily, because they hire lots (Something around 1500 people that this location), especially when a new console is releasing.

Not very selective in hiring people. No wonder there is quality issues regarding games. ssj12 told me 90% of game testers quit working for EA on the Battlefield 2142 testing.

Well I didn't really mean it in that way, it's just that 1 or 2 years is all you really need in the industry and is usually enough.

Thanks for all the great feedback about your trip to EA, it must of been amazing. I remember seeing Electric Playground talking with the guys at that EA before and the big sports fields and the view stood out from what i recall.

I hope the new SSX next year is amazing, i loved the first 3, but the SSX on Tour really sucked, it was one of the worst games i have ever played.

And kickass job Shadow

Apparently the place is open for them 24/7, and they are allowed to come in to work at any time they want as long as it gets done. They also have a "restaurant", more like a very good cafeteria, which is also open at all times (EDIT: NOPE, closes 5:30 =( ) so they can order food. Along the walls they have plaques for platnium titles, posters, special signed things, etc. Oh, and they also have a pretty big arcade.

That's called flex hours and it's very nice.  They have a set of core hours in which people must be there (so people can know when to get in touch with you) but other than that you just have to put in so many hours per day.  At our place I think our core hours are from 11 to 4 or something like that so I generally just get to work at around 9 so I can leave at 6 but my office mate usually gets to work at around 10:30-11 and doesn't usually leave the office until 8 or so.

It really is a nice system.

and glad to hear you had fun there!

Man.........I've lived here for so long, but I've never even seen the building..........and you get to go inside.

"He then asked some trivia questions and gave away 360/Wii games."
I found that weird. Not giving away games, just giving away some 360/wii games instead of 360/PS3 games, since they had been talking about those 2 consoles during your tour.

Maybe it was games they had lots of extra's of, not sure about that.

well.... technically EAC is not "the main EA"

the main EA is EAHQ or EARS which is located in Redwood City, CA.

Games I am looking forward to:

PC: Diablo III, Fallout III, Stacraft 2, Spore, Empire: Total War, American McGee's Grimm

360: Madden 09, Fable 2, Left 4 Dead, Blood Bowl

“Go ask [Blizzard president] Rob Pardo if PC gaming is dead – if he can take the time out from making money hats, I’m sure he’ll give you a really eloquent explanation of why probably the most valuable entertainment franchise of the moment is PC-specific.” - Gabe Newell

that was pretty awsome, im sure it was fun.

  3DS FC: 4355-9313-6815

Does that mean fat people don't work for EA?

I'm Unamerica and you can too.
