 That's called flex hours and it's very nice.  They have a set of core hours in which people must be there (so people can know when to get in touch with you) but other than that you just have to put in so many hours per day.  At our place I think our core hours are from 11 to 4 or something like that so I generally just get to work at around 9 so I can leave at 6 but my office mate usually gets to work at around 10:30-11 and doesn't usually leave the office until 8 or so.

It really is a nice system.
