Forums - Sony - Suikoden I rated for PSN!

I never played the original Suikoden.  Is it really good?

I vote this as the "most ignorant comment of the day"

Play this year's best JRPG, Persona 3 FES and tell me if the gameplay has "never changed in 10 years)

Why does everyone love JRPGs so much? The stories suck, the gameplay has never changed in 10 years.. I really don't see why FPS games get criticised for being too generic or too many when JRPGs are exactly the same.

It WAS this years best JRPG...then I played The World Ends With You. Man, Square Enix is on a roll this year.

Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.

Doesn't matter.

So many games are rated for the PSN and haven't even come out yet.

I think Street Fighter Alpha was rated back last summer, so don't hold your breath.
Lots of games released on the PSN haven't even been rated. 17 Jet Motos and Crash Bandicoots.

Well, the only other two I can think of are Vib Ribbon and Castlevania Chronicles.

It's good to have some hope. As some games that were rated, were indeed released as you mentioned Jet Moto and Crash.

The first Suikoden is an excellent game with a great (but not excellent) story and some memorable characters, but the graphics are a bit dated, the interface is a little clunky, and it's kinda short (20/25 hours). I'd give it a 9.

The second one is the best game ever made. Period
