Forums - Gaming - Moore takes stab at Home Delay - (Moore is the EA sports/ex 360 dude!!)

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/83722-Ex-Xbox-360-and-Current-EA-Sports-Boss-Takes-a-Jab-at-Sony-Over-Home

You can take Peter Moore out of Microsoft, but apparently you can't take the Microsoft out of Peter Moore.

The former Xbox head and current president of EA Sports took a jab at Sony for continuous delays with its planned online community, Home.

Asked whether he would now work with Home given his new job, he quipped, "Yeah; I just wish it would ship."

"I [previously] questioned it a little bit, whether I'd want to wander around there. Phil Harrison showed me a demo - it's very cool, but let's go already. And so I'm disappointed that it's been pushed back a little bit again."

His comments came barely a day after SCE head Kaz Hirai apologized for the ongoing delays while also defending the decision to give Home more time.

Even when throwing in a positive bone, Moore couldn't resist returning to the same criticism.

"But I really hope it gets going and becomes that portal to the PlayStation Network and we can utilize it. But boy, I just wish we'd get going."

I said it before and I'll say it again -  Moore and EA will buy out every developer and then sell it all including EA to MS!!

Hah...I don't know if I agree thats a cheapshot at home as he said he thinks its cool...but I find your idea of EA buying developers and selling them selves to Microsoft quite amusing.

shhhhhh dont say that so loud "they " will have to quiet you down

Not much of a stab. It more or less echoes everyone else's feelings "Get the damn thing out the door."

Well, Home IS really overdue. And the notion of MS buying EA and all its assets makes me shudder gebx, that would effectively kill almost all competition in the industry and I don't think any of us want that to happen!

Maybe Sony doesn't ship things until they're happy about the quality level. Other companies, which I wouldn't name but have shipped shitty products such as Windows Vista maybe should learn from those experiences. I can think of other companies, which I will also not name, which ship incomplete/buggy products like Madden which should spend some more time in the oven as well.

One thing Sony can be criticized on, in this whole scenario, is the fact that they led people to believe that Home would be a 2007 product, when they obviously would have known it would never make 2007.

I don't think you have to worry about that... It wouldn't make any business sense, especially if it meant that EA has to drop multi-platform development, which is a huge percentage of their business.

When you merge two big companies, they need to have a common vision and way of working, otherwise it's just a waste of money that shareholders won't tolerate.

And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

Obligatory dick measuring Gaming Laptop Specs: Sager NP8270-GTX: 17.3" FULL HD (1920X1080) LED Matte LC, nVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M, Intel Core i7-4700MQ, 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3, 750GB SATA II 3GB/s 7,200 RPM Hard Drive

given that Sony announced this at GDC 07 ands said closed beta in the spring and open beta in the fall 07 perioed and we still don't have the open beta yet, they deserve to get yelled at. i don't know what can be taking so long.

Without a doubt Most of sony's in house developed software is very good, be it video games or not - their quality is up there with Nintendo, but their games lack the full force of nostalgia that could be applied.

I guess I'm saying that their good but not enough of something to make it fresh again.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.
