As a lover of films/books, I've always found every game I've played to have a laughable storyline. Games do better when they tell the story visually in my opinion.

Graim Fandango - c'mon, best voice acting and dialogue ever
Day of the Tentacle - for the humour
Longest Journey - very solid, good writing with decent characterization
Deus Ex (considering that a lot of dialogue covered political and governing discussion I was amazed they managed to make it work at all)
Portal - there's not a lot of dialogue, but what dialogue there is is fantasic
System Shock 1 & 2 (Shodan basically, no opponent has ever taunted me better, though a certain 'lady' in Portal comes close)
Beyond Good & Evil - fantastic characters and great voice acting
Uncharted & HS for their cutscene dialogue and direction, the best around IMHO
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
Mass effect, best rpg ever, so why shouldn't its story be the best?
And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... Planescape: Torment has 800,000 words. Not that the amount of dialogue really matters.

Then play Planescape: Torment. It has even been compared to literary pieces.

Because it's not true on both accounts.
Max Payne.
It had some of the most cheesy lines imaginable, but it suited the dark film noir theme quite well.
"I was in a computer game. Funny as Hell, it was the most horrible thing I could think of."

I guess I will go with the Phoenix Wright games. The dialogs tend to amuse me a lot.
