Forums - Gaming - PSP Phone from Sony Ericsson

Well I like the idea, the only problem I see is that it might become very large. I personally don't want a very large mobil phone. If they could make a slim variant with a smaller screen (a little bit like GBA micro) and it could be the reason why I would buy a new phone and a PSP. So we can always hope...

Buy it and pray to the gods of Sigs: Naznatips!

i care about neither. The only phone i care about is the iPhone and I won't even be picking that up.

This being just a patent application chance are 10:1 that this will never actually turn into a real product.

Hardcore gaming is a bubble economy blown up by Microsoft's $7 $6 billion losses.

Ugh, leave it to Sony to shove the obvious into their gaming devices. Who didn't see this coming.

Yeah this will never actually happen. More than 90% of patents go unused.

They are both bad ideas IMO, lol, both the PSPhone and the Wiiphone.

Did we learn nothing from N-Gage?

Or check out my new webcomic: http://selfcentent.com/

The GBA probably has the best library for mobile phones. PSP games just aren't designed for a tiny screen that you want in a mobile phone.

man, tht thing looks huge... if the screen is half the size of the PSP screen it will still barely fit in ur pocket :P

Yeah Sony is just protecting themselves from the possible fate of the DS phone: http://www.joystiq.com/2007/01/17/ds-phone-not-by-nintendo/ You can pretty much guess the contents by looking at that link: "Imitation is the best form of flattery: Japanese mobile phone operator NTT DoCoMo has unveiled the Mitsubishi-built D800iDS, yes, a dual-screened celly that features a touch screen in place of a keypad." So pretty much, NTT DoCoMo gets cash from imitating the DS Lite. So either Nintendo or Sony are gonna make the phones (not likely) or they are just patenting the idea so somebody else doesn't make it first (more likely).
