I don't remember any "PS3 is dying" threads, but some "PS3 will finish last". And we'll have to see about that one.

 It will be interesting if you can show us some proof, yes, some people say that (not as many as some of you would like), but a choorus??

I think FF13 will change things in japan

 Yep, I'd say the people using the "PS3 is doomed" chorus were far louder than the people using the "PS3 will dominate" chorus. It was the most insane bashing of a console I'd ever heard! Those dumb bastards have been proven wrong and rightly so.

You do realize the headlines of the day tends to dominate discussion? Of course when Halo 3 does well people are going to say all kinds of things. That's what happens, whenever something does better or worse than expected, the discussion will be about that. 

For every PS3 is doomed thread you can find, I can find a PS3 domination starts with <insert name or price cut here> thread.  

Ps3 will be over 20K in japan this week (new Japan game release) so it will be 100K higher this week.
Several reasons perhaps for the higher PS3 sales in spite of it's higher price. >>
1 blu-ray.
2 the old GTA games were on PS2 first.
3 Sony Hw have a quality reputation while MS had the RROd problem.
4 PS3 is a nicer box it has built in PSU and very quiet operation.
5 In the US X360 is market saturated while the PS3 still has a while to go (higher SW 360, higher HW Ps3).
6 PS3 version of GTA4 has Motion capability for driving and flying.

7 only PS3 has Motorstorm 2.!

Will be interesting to see how quick the PS3 sales drop after this spike will probably be down to 300K next week. And the 360 down to 230K - but thats pretty good really.

The problem is that FF13 is the only good JRPG in PS3 library. I believe it can only boost the sales for 2 or 3 weeks...

Rewind even further back. Everyone predicted that when the ps3 was released that it would destroy everything. So it clearly goes both ways.

Fanboy spin doesn't equate to reasoned logical opinion. The ps3's strength in Europe and in Japan (at least relative to the 360 as both as doing poorly there) have pointed to a ps3 victory since late last year.

But lets be honest. The ps3's userbase victory in a few years time means absolutely nothing. As the 360 will still get all same games as the ps3. Most of the exclusives in Japan will go to wii. So the ps360 will remain linked for the remainder of this generation.
