right so what happens to the existing 18M (including myself) who bought the non BR? That would be 2 consoles in 6 years they've gone trough and pissing off original xbox owners and 360 owners.

That would be suicide

Are PS3 owners pissed off that they have 2-4 Sixaxis controllers when new consoles have DS3? Thats the example that fits. Its just an incremental feature, move along folks... nothing to see here.

Tease.

until devs started bringing out games on BR format that wont fit and wont work on older models, then Microsofts first 2 consoles would have had a ridiculously short life span, ensuring it was mainlty their loyal consumers who got burned.

The alternative to this is to ensure developers dont allow the BR format to be used and only allowing games that would play on any model 360 and limiting the BR drive to be used as a movie player, this would be seen as a pointless addition in my opinion and a little desperate.

Either way I think it's possible MS may release as new look, slimline, quiter model that touts no RROD at some point but I cannot see it having BR.

You are not looking at the big picture here. Purchasing a controller that costs $55 is different then purchasing a console that will cost $300-$400 or more. If you buy 4 DS3 controllers at one time you are nuts. Even though that would be cheaper then a new console. $55x4 is $220.
