Has the PSP revision been confirmed? By the way, the Nintendo DS really needed that revision. It looked like a pile of shit before.

It has not been officially announced, but a high-up Sony guy was quoted as saying it's coming.  They later sort of retracted it but the rumors are persisting and those types of quotes keep popping up.  It's coming.

The DS got a redesign because it was selling less than the PSP...once the DSLite appeared...the DS took off.

It takes more than a redesign of the hardware. At the time the DSlite was launched, also the brain games hype started and games like Nintendogs and Animal Crossing helped a lot too. 2 or 3 months after the DSlite launched, New Super Mario Bros was released and there you had the killer catalogue of games that made the DS so popular.

It's delusional to think that a PSP redesign will result in much higher sales, because the PSP will still have the same games for the same demographics as before. It's great that the PSP gets more original games now and less PS2 ports, but those exclusive games are for the same audience that bought the PS2 ports before.

The DS took off because of the combination of better designed hardware and software that expanded the market. I can't see Sony doing the same in the near future.

People keep saying this, but how is Crush or Lumines or Gunpey or Parappa for the same audience? These are all not your usual console game.

Is Sony doing any marketing for those games you mentioned?

I live in austria so I can't say that much about tv commercials, just that I haven't seen one tv spot for the PSP that actually shows a game and not only praises other features of the PSP.

Whether they are marketed or not, they are great games that are not PS2 ports.  The PS2 port argument is really old at this point.  Not to me, I mean it hasn't applied for quite some time.

I don't remember seeing DS commercials at all.  Maybe that's just me.  Do I not watch enough children's programming?  Some Saturday morning cartoons?  I might remember New SMB, now that I'm trying to remember...

The only PSP commercials I've seen lately is that "get your own" stuff.  Maybe I just ignore portable commercials.

PSP redesigned from what I've seen.  Too soon for PSP2.  The PSP is still doing very well.

Hey, was the PSP really beating the old Nintendo DS before the Nintendo DS Lite?

Haha, I sold my PSP last week. Didn't touch it for over a year. But I want some Earthworm Jim.

Game of the year.

Now Playing: Guitar Hero III (Wii)

You... You sold it? Why?

Just constantly disappointed with the new releases, honestly. I am bound to get another one - eventually. Although that not be until next year sometime. Plus I needed some quick money.

Have you ever heard of emulation? You get an NES, SNES, GEN, GB, GBC, GBA, PS1, PSP itself, and more, all in the palm of your hands!

Jeanne d'Arc is really good. FF Tactics I haven't touched it yet. FF PSP you forgot, but that game really sucks. To speak for myself I don't think there's one single interesting game to release for me the upcoming months on the PSP. Not even Japanese. Crisis Core I'm absolutely not interested in.
