Tree-planter? That's an unusual job...

Oh yeah, the black flies are out now. They hit in full force. My face has been covered in blood on more than one occasion. I'm actually not minding them so much except for when they fly in to your eyes or mouth. I've gotten quite good at spitting them out or swallowing them right away, but if you don't do it fast enough you end up choking on them, which is problematic because you risk inhaling more as you cough. I couldn't count the dozens if not hundreds of bites I've recieved, but at least I didn't swell up like one girl on our crew.

Back to another week. This night off is going to be halloween. I've dressing up as a P-tag.

If you don't get what that means, I don't care!

 No, black flies are the devil.  They feel like bee stings but they don't die and are out all day long.  Good thing they are easy to keep away (cover your entire body).

So it turns out I'm the camp bleeder. The blackfly bites leave the sides of my face dripping blood. It's quite funny the looks I get from shocked planters. It's odd because I don't really notice them nearly as much as other people do. Of course the mosquitos are coming out more and more on the block now. Unlicke the black flies, which can be protected against by covering up, Mosquitos bite through a lot of clothing. This can actually be a good thing, as if it's a mosquito day you can wear a muscle shirt. Bug spray seems to work a lot better on them than black flies.

My numbers are picking up. This week I put 8,500 trees in the ground. And one of those days I only did 1,000 because my shoulder was kind of messed up. But a girl who just left is letting me use her shorter, lighter shovel so I'm pretty thrilled about that. I've decided that I want to plant 10,000 trees this week, as that gets you an extra half cent a tree. I'll be pair planting with another guy on my crew who wants to do the same. It should be a pretty intense week.

But I'm prepared, I found some where's waldo books at a garage sale (they're french, so it's called " ou est charlie?") and a military strategy board game called "Quebec 1759". That's right, I'll be reliving the historic battle between the british and the French for control of North America. Oh yes, it will be exciting.

Last night was halloween. It was awesome. I drank a lot. I then did a funnel, pitched forward and scraped up my face... I've officially hit rock bottom. But hey, no where to go now but up right? I also went swimming today. Cold, but refreshing. And no leeches surprisingly.

Well I got one month left. Then I use my money to buy Wii games. yay!
