i love how you say that sony "copyed" all of those things from microsoft and nintendo because they came out earlier. do you honestly think that the 360 came out and sony was like oh shit we need a home button, lets throw that on there? the ps3 was a full machine way before the 360 release, last year was for R&D and making bluray cheaper. if you can prove to me with quotes or dates of whatever that sony could have copyed these things i will prove i was wrong but im pretty sure your pulling these "facts" out of thin air.

 Still they are a great innovation.  In the fact that it gave all of their mulipparty games a cometitive advantage.

Also plenty of people buy games they would never buy or play just because it's easy acheivement points.

Achievements are a terrific idea no doubt, but when they do nothing (in my case, I could care less about my gamertag) I fail to see the point. I'll agree with what Kas said, I think they're an amazing sale's tool, but innovative in the least bit? Hell no. They don't do anything, I give so much more credit to developers like Naughty Dog and Insomniac that reward you for your effort, that should be in the hands of the developers to sell they're game, not "achievements" -_-;

I get the point of the OP and totally agree. But hasn't that been common knowledge for ages? :p Sony copies. It's what they do.

 If by copies you mean, takes Nintendo's ideas, and makes them better ;) Then Yes, I completely agree ^_^

Did not Sony make Memory card standard atleast for two generations? I really dont think either of them are innovativ Nintendo is getting too much praise and people are attacking Microsoft too much.

 You're assuming everyone hates to use Sony gamepads, I know I don't.
