Forums - General - @Benga, time of our lives

Welp, I'm having major problems with my text formatting here, and if we could just let this disaster post die, or delete it I would be very, very happy.

Good times my friends. We live in good times.

Never again will console sales be this exciting. Remember this feeling! Excitement, life, and the thing we derive it from, sales, is so fleeting, so seemingly boring to the outside eye.

Benga has recently started an article that I enjoy very much called:

The Week That Was

Hardware Sales, 03rd May 2008

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Little editing problem here, will fix the OP soon as I can get that working right, lol.

TheSource is probably frantically reading the forums in excitement and planning or actually writing his NA wrapup, and ioi is finally relaxing from a job well done. The site is livid.

A small group of posters headed by Leo-J, who was recently permabanned, predicted that the Wii would be outsold WW this week by the PS3 and 360.

Epic ownage ensued, but little in the way of "laughing in peoples faces" happened, unfortunately, because of afformentioned permaban.

The increase for all consoles was respectable, and GTAIV has every bit of the impact that we thought it would. Good for GTAIV, it's a good game. My review was recently posted here:

There is an electricity in the air. What can we assume from these figures:

1. The Wii has a seperate market from the 360 and PS3, not necessarily mutually exclusive, but largely seperate and substantial.

2. GTAIV helped the PS3 more than the 360 just like Patcher and all of us predicted. However, that doesn't mean the 360 is dead quite yet. The X-mote is out soon, most likely, and this week of flux isn't a great indicator of future trends.

3. MKWii performed very well. GTAIV also performed very well. Both games in line with expectations extrapolated from their first day sales. Two really good games get the sales they deserve.

It'll be interesting to see the EU numbers, and with this little interjection of my opinion, I hope you are all as excited as I am about the sales of the coming months, and about the community of this site.

Excellent surfing and excellent site. Thank you all for making this my favorite internet experience.

What the hell's going on here?

I actually read the whole thing, and thought you were just going nuts with the blue bars on purpose. I love these crazy accidents.

FYI - Fixing it took 10 seconds =P I just copied your text into the quick-post box...then copied what I had just pasted (because the pure text kills special format characters) into the rich text and viola~

PS - I also spell-checked it~
