Ah, your 1.3 million was week one? I was a little disheartened with you, thinking you ment life time. Im pretty sure MGS4 will sell quite a few million copies life time.
I own all three current consoles and a great gaming rig, now thats out of the way.

Nope.. But since it's an exclusive, it will get a good 1st week and surely a good PS3 HW boost.
The game will break GTA4 PS3 launch sales, I don't understand how can anyone doubt that!

It's bundled
It looks freaking awesome
It's the end of Snake
It's a war game (as much as a stealth game, and can be played as a FPS too)
It includes an awesome online multiplayer game
It's just amazing. This game is an eye-opener. The true PS3 KILLER APP. It's the reason to get a PS3.

Well I compared it directly to GTAIV, which sold 1.3 million week 1 in NA. :P

Dude, the game will be lucky to get 500k in Japan, and even that would be a pretty ridiculously high 1:4 - 5 attach rate.

There are many, many millions more outside of the demographic targeted by MGS4 that couldn't give a shit for this game. It's not GTA. It will not do GTA PS3 numbers.

I don't doubt the game will have some impact, I just think people WAY overstate their case. MGS4 is simply not a Smash Bros/Halo/GTA caliber title in sales. And I don't think that this ONE game is suddenly going to push the numbers people are expecting into putting ~$500 for a PS3 and the game, especially if they already own a system.
