A forum debate for all you 80's pop fanatics. Back in 1988 two young teenage singers called Tiffany Darwish and Debbie Gibson slugged it out for the title Pop Princess. Who were you a fan of. I'm too young to remember, although I do remember Take That v East 17, and Oasis v Blur. Above are two music videos to help you make your mind up.

Tiffany, but only because I spent 5 minutes singing the most awkward version of "I think we're alone now" with friends while driving home after an an enormous chinese meal.

As Tiffany is the only one to do Playboy, I'll vote for her.

Tiffany, hands down. I love almost all of her albums. My mp3 player has like 60 of her songs on it. Debbie had a few good songs, but on the whole her songs were too repetitive and not diverse enough.

I remember watching a little feature on their rivalry on a Nostalgia TV show on BBC back in 2001. Thats how I'm familiar with them, well........ a little bit. Debbie said she was just like Britney Spears, except for the sexy revealing outfits, she dressed like a normal teenager. If only all female popstars were like that, instead of dressing like tarts.

I'm never really listened either one of them musically. Given the fact that I prefer red heads to blondes, I'd pick Tiffany. Not only that I just looked over google like superchunk suggested and Tiffany has the better body too. Its nice to know that the carpet matches the drapes : )
