Alert a local Gamestop or something that your system was stolen, because the thief will probably try to trade it in. I doubt you have its serial number, but any username or form of identification you used should be told to Sony Customer service; they could probably track it. Good luck on the investigation.

 If you bought your PS3 in a store (ie: Bestbuy), they do keep your recipts and will track down your serial number. If you live in a small town with 1 or 2 gameshop, you can go there and ask if there's a trade-in of late.

 Pretty unlikely, but good luck.

 

Also, It might not be a direct friend.. it might be a friend of a friend who has been to your house or heard stories of your PS3. Pretty disgusting that someone actually broke into your house tho.

If your big-screen TV isn't taken, it's 100% by teenagers which means it's by someone linked to YOU.

It's not necessarily a friend, you guys must have grown up in neighborhoods with unicorns and rainbows. I grew up in a rough neighborhood; I had my house broken into twice (Gameboy stolen once, SNES another time) and it wasn't friends either times or anyone who knew anything about my house; just opportunistic, amateurish juvenile thieves.

Actually most of us who grew up/live in bad neighborhoods know that majority of the time "random" crime isnt random by any means. If they broke in the house and went straight for the PS3 and didnt touch anything else.....well then my moneys on its someone you know. Might not be a direct friend of yours, if it isnt its probably the whole friend of a friend thing. Either way you most likely have a buddy who know something about it. So just keep your ears open and observe your friends. You notice anyone acting different with you or avoiding you......check them out.

yeah it really is suspicious that they didn't take anything of great value, must have been a quick get away (with a big tv i really can not see it happening). Hope you can nail the bastard down and gewt him into jail or let him pay a lot of cash to u (serves theives right)
