Forums - Nintendo - Will nintendo inovate next gen , or just make a new wii/ds with better gfx?

We all know nintendo likes to inovate alot, but they don't always inovate ( gamecube/gba). So do you think they will just make a wii/ds with better graphics, and updated strengths such as controls, or will they do something inovative. What would you like to see them do? Is there anything else they could inovate to gaming with?

Better graphics won't work next gen , Nintendo's only method of re-capturing the casual market 5-10 years from now is innovate further.

If it doesn't work anymore, what will sony/microsoft do? Will they inovate also?

more innovation.... maybe they will improve the graphics, but thats not the important....

Obviously they will improve the graphics no matter what. I'm asking if they will inovate in addition to graphics, or just improve the graphics more so than if they were to inovate. Or will they improve graphics at the same lvls as their competitors, and inovate.

Nintendo is going to improve in two fronts...

Graphics and raw power... (since will be cheaper)
The wiimote, the touchscreen... (better and even more friendly)

Nothing more can be done, the next gen is going to be more like the war of the gimmicks, so they are going to focus in this, and since they have experience, they will do it ok, and with the third party support, they are going to keep the lead...

By me:

Made with Blender + LuxRender
"Since you can´t understand ... there is no point to taking you seriously."

I don't think the Nintendo will have it as easy next gen as they did this one , Sony and MS would have learned from their mistakes .

And we all know the user bases don't stay loyal to any one console (citing the PS2 gen as an example).

I personally think we will see "evolutuion" as opposed to "revolution" from nintendo next gen after having established a new fanbase amongst casual gamers

The second console of a popular console has also done well, look at the NES-SNES, PS1-PS2.

I think the Wii 2 will improve graphics, power, storage and the Wii remote.

They will ride the wave of the Wii like the SNES and PS2 did.

Consoles LTD, end 2009, end 2010 - prediction

Wii -  68 million, 90 million - Wii HD in late 2011 - $249

360 - 38 million, 47 million - 720 in late 2010 - $299

PS3 - 31 million, 43 million - slim PS3 in mid 2009 - $299

I think it's possible they may take the interface up a notch. I've seen alot of promising technologies that put even the wiimote idea to shame. I saw one on IGN that was sort of like PSeye times ten. Ridiculously accurate, it could locate each of your finger tips, react based on how many fingers you are holding up, tell the distance you and your appendages are from the TV screen, put an object in your hand and keep it there. It was amazing really, and would allow for true 1:1 motion control without even needing a controller.

That's just one of many new technologies that are out there that they could choose to go with, that would make gaming even more intuitive for the masses. You would could control it accurately and deftly solely with your movements.

Only time will tell.
