They shipped 390 000 units until march according to their financial report. So that means at the moment they sold every 360 that they shipped until March 2007.

I think it's very smart that they don't ship to many units to japan. Because it would be very dumb to ship 1 000 000 units when the manufacturing cost go down every month or something. So they don't lose to much money.



I hope you will understand my statement because my English isn't very good.  I'm from belgium by the way.

wow, i never noticed that.... that's very interesting... i doubt its in short supply over there... but at least they aren't flooding the market.

actually... taking this a step further... the only place that hasn't sold close to the number of shipped is americas (by almost a million) so i guess microsoft is estimating sales well throughout the world except for america.

Umm..there is always a certain amount of backog on all consoles. It takes 4-8 weeks just to ship from the factory in China (this goes for Wii, PS3, XB360) by boat and then ship them to stores all across the USA. So there is up to two MONTHS of sales just in transit at any time. +those sitting on store shelves. Japan has a more efficient distribution system plus it is naturally a small country so it's probably a bit different there. In fact that's probably why ioi estimates that way. In Japan, shipped probably is more close to sold than USA+EU.

sooo... are you saying that the 360 may be slightly supply constrained in Japan?

There should be no shortage in Japan, I'm sure they've shipped more to Japan since March 2007.  Also, the financial report probably did not count the 360's that they shipped to Japan from Nov2005 to Mar 2006

o sure, there's no way that they have just let it sell out like that...  and with the trusty bell bundle thats going to be released in 2 weeks i'm sure there are plenty over there... but they certainly are making sure there aren't too many.
